The birds are arranged in rows, and each bird has\u00a0its wings positioned at the next stage of flight within the row \u2013 aiming to create the impression of stop motion animation\u00a0as each bird is\u00a0illuminated\u00a0in turn. The software can be adapted to change the speed how the lighting travels along the row of birds, the amount of &#8216;trail&#8217; effect by adjusting the fade in and fade out of the lights.
