That is\u00a0you can set it up with its own wifi-network, that you log onto. This is really handy for controlling art installations, where there might be no internet (\u00a0I&#8217;ve set pi&#8217;s up in forests to play videos and to control mechanical instruments via midi). You can still acess the internet thru it ethernet port plugged into a router, and then the pi becomes a wifi-network. When the pi is operating on its own wifi network you can still access it through VNC<\/p>\n<p>its really easy to do here&#8217;s the website detailing the package. It does a lot more than I&#8217;ve outlined here, so have a read.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/raspap.com\/\">https:\/\/raspap.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>on the pi open a terminal window and type<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">curl -sL https:\/\/install.raspap.com | bash<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Untitledkkk.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1459\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Untitledkkk-1024x653.jpg\" alt=\"Untitledkkk\" width=\"660\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">say yes to everything! and in about 5 minuets everything will have downloaded and installed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/wofo-set-up.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1457\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/wofo-set-up-1024x658.jpg\" alt=\"wofo set up\" width=\"660\" height=\"424\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">next in the terminal type<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">sudo nano \/etc\/hostapd\/hostapd.conf<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/conf.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1456\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/conf-1024x60.jpg\" alt=\"conf\" width=\"660\" height=\"38\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">this brings up all the settings for the network. Change the name of the SSID to something you like (rather than raspi-webgui). and the password back to raspberry (from ChangeMe)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/wofo-set-up1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1458\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/wofo-set-up1-1024x658.jpg\" alt=\"wofo set up\" width=\"660\" height=\"424\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">then save these changes (ctrl x, yes, return)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">then in the terminal restart the pi by typing<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">sudo reboot<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">and let it restart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">when the green light has stop flashing look onto yer wifi settings .And you should see the new pi network you named<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/wofonetwork.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1455\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/wofonetwork.png\" alt=\"wofonetwork\" width=\"599\" height=\"545\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">join onto it, fill out yer password (raspberry)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/passeord.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1454\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/passeord.jpg\" alt=\"passeord\" width=\"904\" height=\"591\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">then open\u00a0 terminal on the mac and get the pi&#8217;s ip number by typing<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">ping raspberrypi.local<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">note this down<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">now open VNC up on the mac<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">and use this ip number to connect, remember user name is still pi , and password is raspberry<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/vnc1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1452\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/vnc1.jpg\" alt=\"vnc1\" width=\"952\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/vnc2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1451\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/vnc2.jpg\" alt=\"vnc2\" width=\"824\" height=\"555\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">press continue,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1450\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/3.jpg\" alt=\"3\" width=\"940\" height=\"477\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">and then success!<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/success.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1449\" src=\"https:\/\/matthewolden.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/success-1024x789.jpg\" alt=\"success\" width=\"660\" height=\"508\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can turn your pi into a wifi-hotspot.
